From the horse's mouth

So as we all know, socialism is about a centralized, state-planned economy*, which is vastly superior to whatever else it is we have now. It is common knowledge that Karl Marx was the mastermind behind such a wonderful idea, but I have been having some trouble actually finding exactly where he articulated it. Does anyone know where he goes through and makes the case for a centralized, state-planned economy*? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
