The re-election of Bush as president in the USA is a wake up call for leftists worldwide. The workers are very well educated. They know what's up. Like the Wailers sang they 'know it because they feel it'.

You wanna know where to organise? Start off with your neighbours. Get to know them. Respect them. Build a strong community based around solidarity.

Many people do not realise that Dr. Martin Luther King was a socialist. He had no political office, he was armed with no weapons but caused a paradigm shift in how people related to one another. That's revolution. A revolution of ideas.

Bush may not even realize he's a fascist. i don't think he's smart enough to get into history .

I agree with everything said, but do you not think that like so many other US leaders in the past George Bush is just a logical extension of the American Psyche. Americans historically have felt entitled to pretty much anything they want. The country itself built by settlers believing they had the god given right to steal the land from it's indigenous population. With selfishness and self righteousness so deeply embedded in America's national conscience do they not now have a truly apt leader who democratically represents the majority of Americans?

Those original Americans were europeans...so let's remember that. Europe birthed us and they have a zillion times worse record of inhumanity to man than we have. we haven't been around long enough to keep up.

BTW...who was it that created Iraq...and israel. Who had their fingers in that pie?

The Axis powers. There is no way that WWII would have been won without the U.S. Hitler would never have become so powerful without people such as Henry Ford.

didn't Ford give money to Hitler too? or was that someone else?

My point exactly. Wealthy U.S. Industrialists started the war, profited off of it and ended portraying themselves as heroes. Meanwhile, real anti-Nazis such as Charley Chaplin got banned from the U.S or got blacklisted during the Red Scare.

war-profiteering is BIG business

Unlike WWII, recent wars have not boosted the economy but just lined the pockets of certain stock holders.

If we look at the two issues that separate the Republicans and Democrats, its the policy towards Israel and the abortion issue. There is a reason for this. The issue surrounding the State of Israel is seen by many right wing evangelicals as linked towards the battle of Armageddon. The abortion issue is a way of getting traditionally Democratic Catholics to leave the party of JFK.

For the majority of Americans, Israel and Abortion are not key issues. Very few Americans support a theocracy in Israel. Very few Americans want to totally outlaw abortion. Very few americans want yet another theocracy in the Middle East.

The Republican Party likes to play the victemhood game and won the election to to apealing to the middle class (who they screwed with the tax cuts on the wealthy). It appears that the election was rigged as well. Then again bush was running against his frat brother John Kerry.

I recommend reading "A WORLD IN ECONOMIC CRISIS" By Johan Galtung, March 1999.

The author describes what is "hyper-capitalism," how it functions and why we have it in twenty succinct, readable pages. Galtung concludes, "Where are we now, given that globalization synchronizes the national dynamics, at least at the top level? Something was ushered in, and not only in the ex-Soviet/socialist countries: hyper-capitalism. No doubt brilliant, shiny in its visible manifestations, such as the buildings of banks (remembering that "bank" is the first syllable in "bankruptcy"). There is also much gold behind what glitters. But it looks as if the system is equipped with an accelerator pushing us through Khaldunian phases at a speed defying "generation". The name of that accelerator: the computer, with real time internet global co-existence. The name of the economic manifestation: speculation.

Prognosis: It will get worse: mass violence and migration.

Therapy: Reverse all the above. But how? Building Zones of subsistence?

Includes ten pages of endnotes.
